hi... i haven't been in the internet in such a long time, i just wanted to say thank you sooo much for your support on the recent events on my lawsuit.. i wanted to tell those who are interested that it is being appealed and it will take about a year for it to go to the apellet court.

i must admit when i heard the news it was really disappointing, but it made me feel a little better knowing that it was over a statue of limitations and not because they tried to say it never happened.

i think you all might find this a little funny, a few months back my lawyers had a deposition with the elders involved in the congregation and i was able to attend, one elder kept on saying that he just followed watchtower policy, he also admitted that the two eye witness policy is true, he said that he was no longer an elder and said it was because he wanted to spend more time with his family but is still a jw (of course).

ok so even if russell gave all the sermons he said he did...how many people were at each 10 50, 100. and did any of them speak english? i don't recall russell having the holy sprit abilty to speak in tongues!!!!!!!!!!!! so the bottom line is even if he made these sermons . moswt there in china or japan could not understand a word he was saying.. and that for the better b/c all Russell was babbling about was false prophecies about 1874 and 1914. etc etc......john

Why Do JWs Only Preach In Poor/Middle Class Neighborhoods?

as my name suggests, i'm from nyc.

i've lived in every borough of new york and spent time at most of the local congregations until i finally decided that it was all for nothing (my recent posts on this forum explain why).

during this time, i noticed an interesting pattern - the jws only preach in poor to middle class neighborhoods.

well the jw's have a big news stand at boro hall #4 train station bklyn and they allways call the cops on me when i witness to then, they are also in the subways stations like 42nd st and many major tranfer points and you are right as a rule they are in the poorer parts. and i have seen them in country club i live close by. but not often. and they do work throgs neck a bit mostly walking up tremont ave. keep in mind in the better arears they can't get into a lot of the buildings. lol i find a lot of jw's sitting in a park for hours on end were no one seems to walk to put in time...and they have been chased out of bay plaza mall. but in co-op city they are all over the place....john

Update on study with Elder....

i took the advice of the forum and informed him i wouldlike to study the bible.

he arrived case in hand and pulled out the draw close to jehovah publication.. i said i thought we were going to study the bible...he then said well this is a bible publication...i said has not past publications contained errors and changes in teachings while the bible remains true.

he said yesssss.......do you have something inparticular you want to look at in the bible.....i said i thought we could start in matthew and work our way through.

shotgun; you did an excelent job. bar none you started off right with lets read through the bible starting with matthew. . then busted him on the nwt and new light , i never heard anyone say before how can the end of the gentiles come before the great tribulation . boy the was great wow. as for the 607 date i would invite the elder to take me to the public library to back it up? and for the 1914,1918,1919 datesas i said before let them back it up . if they can't they are the ones lying. maybe a study on the finished mystery 1917 would be in order. at this point i would stand behind the questions you already persented, and say no more. unless you want to make them stumble some more prov 4-19 shotgun just go with your heart and it will all work out , you have too much for them!!!!!!!!!! as for scholar you asked for some thing to back up his 30 yrs of research , and he came back with nothing, not one book not written by a jw. shows what a scholar , scholar really is!!!!!! freedom in christ john

Ran into two JW's in service today, I was on !!!, it was classic !!!

well, for some reason i was up extra early today, understand i am night person and usually sleep to 11 or so today i was up at 9 and decided to take the dogs out before it got to hot outside.

i hadn't been gone 3 minutes and as i came out of my street onto another i bumped into 2 jw's (females) getting out of their suv.

they asked do you have a couple of minutes.

An elder wants to study with me...please help!

after my recent barrage of elder visits i've been told that to truly show i'm willing to work at restoring my faith a bs is needed.. i want to be able to pick a few recent publications (last 10 yrs) and sit down with him and examine all the quotes and references in the publications to show how the society has misquoted and misrepresented so much in their publications.

do you know which publications would be best..keeping in mind the reference material will also have to readily accessible to be of any use.

i don't think searching on the internet will be acceptable to him.. .

shotgun : off the top of my head in the 4-1-03 wt pg 26-30 they are calling the wt book " divine plan of ages " bible truth etc and say that this man read that book in 1925 and loved it . when that book said armaggedom was in 1914 the time of the end was 1799. the gospel age started in 1843 jesus returned in 1874 , jesus choose the russell etc in 1878 as the christ with jesus. these are just some of the lies that the wt tells every week in their mags, since you read the finished mystery and the millions booklet. you know well that the wt lies today about their history. if you have the wt book the revelations grand climax at hand .. 1989 on page 8 it talks about how today the wt CAN'T TRANSLATE THE "FINISHED MYSTERY TODAY INTO OTHER LANGUAGES.. WHAT BULL I WOULD SKIM this book and made the elders back every line about how all the conventions from 1919 to present are forfullment of bible prophecy . with wts from that time.. you will have a field day. in the new daniel book chapter 17 they also go into 1919 etc. make them back it up from wt's from 1919. if you want to play with them. let them back it up not you put them in the hot seat. make them back up their books. trust me you can not lose with this. spend a little time and prepare your self .and hold them to proving these books are the TRUTH... WAS WHAT YOU KNOW AGAINST THEM... HAPPY HUNTING JOHN

sword of jah: reading a wt book is not a bible study. reading a whole book of the bible ie matthew, luke, mark, john in order is a bible study. just thought i would let you know , what a bible study is . it seems you have never had one. b/c if you did you wouldn't be going around defending the wt. i think i told you to follow the study i out lined in this thread some 6 months ago. I see you are still speaking in the name of god presumptuously. have a nice day . john

shotgun: heres how to get the elder easy.ask him if jesus did an inspection of all religions from 1914-1918 he will say yes. and jesus choose the wt and fds in 1919 based on what they were teaching ? and you caqn find this teaching in any wt study book. now say jesus must have read all the wt books from 1914-1918 right . and jesus liked the books and choose the wt because they were teaching the proper spritual food at the proper time . and what the wt was teaching at the time was worship acceptable to jehovah ? ok so now i want to study the books till 1919 that were acceptable to jesus ... if they were good enough for jesus they are good enough for us to STUDY TODAY. WOULD NOT AGREE.... HOW HE IS IN HOT WATER. tell him you want to be convinced just like juses was in 1919. so which studies in the scriptures book we going to start the book study on ..vol 1 or are going to start with vol. 7 tell him to get the books till 1919 and we can srart the study any time. he will try to change the subject or tell you those books are old etc. tell him the bible is 1000"s of years old. and it is still good today right. tell him you only want to study the wt books till 1919 that jesus loved so much .. and if jesus loved them so then i'm sure we will love them just as much! he will try to back out the whole time. tell him bottom line what are you hiding. if jesus choose the wt in 1919 then these have to be the best books since the bible so when does the study start on these wt books till 1919. if you hold him to this study and no other study . he will leave you alone . because you can always bring up the same point everytime you need to ..john
